The trip starts with the capital of the State of Amazonas, Manaus, with all its history and culture, traditions and customs that enchant every visitor. The accommodation in Manaus will be in the charming Villa Amazonia located in the historic heart of Manaus. that allows the visitor to have the freedom to walk on their own and discover the main city of the Amazon. In the jungle, the Mirante do Gaviao lodge will be the base to explore the jungle. A Lodge with only 7 rooms that guarantees a very personalized service to guests. Activites include rides in canoes, walks, visits to local communities, observation of regional fauna and flora.

Itinerary

Arrival at Manaus Airport, reception at the airport and transfer to Hotel Villa Amazonia located in the Historic Center of Manaus. 

Free time to rest in the hotel facilities or take a walk around the surroundings of the Amazonas Theater.  Overnight.

Breakfast and departure for the City Tour in Manaus. We leave from the Hotel at 09:00 am with direction to the Port of Manaus, the Adolpho Lisboa Market with internal visit, the varied Mercado de Fish and Bananas located in the center of Manaus with an immense variety of fruits of the river and the jungle, in sizes, flavors and colorful natural products.  Then, we continue towards the center where we will pass by the Rio Negro Palace, official headquarters of the Government of the State of Amazonas and a beautiful example of the architecture of the golden period of the Rubber. Here we will visit the Museum of the City of Manaus MUMA, a cultural space located in the Pazo de la Libertad in the center of Manaus. Then we continue with the visit to the imposing Teatro Amazonas inaugurated in 1896, one of the main tourist points of the city. Symbol of the rubber age and all the wealth and grandeur that are still transmitted in its corridors, rooms and works of art. (Important: the Theater Amazonia works regularly from Tuesday to Saturday, on Sundays only at morning). Return to the Hotel and free afternoon to enjoy the Hotel facilities.

Following breakfast, depart to MUSA – Museum of the Amazon.  This tour lasts approximately 4 hours.   This Museum was founded in 2009, a living open-air museum in a segment of the Adolpho Ducke forest reserve, a primary forest in the city of Manaus. Within this same area was also created the Botanical Garden that surprises visitors with its species and botanical specimens. The MUSA is equipped with towers to observe the jungle in different heights and strata, exhibition tents and pavilions where flora and fauna can be observed and culture of the Amazon. This Museum brings together the studies of more than 60 years of research with the aim of promoting environmental education, preserving native species and showing the visitor in their natural habitat part of their Amazonian flora, fauna, and culture. Return to the Hotel and Free afternoon to enjoy the Hotel.

Breakfast, check out and departure to the Hotel Mirante do Gaviao (2: 30hs tour through the jungle in an air-conditioned vehicle).   Arrival at Mirante do Gaviao and lunch at the CamuCamu Restaurant.

Departures in speed boats for river bathing on freshwater beaches or water trails de los Igapos (Amazon ecosystem rich in fauna).  In the afternoon, option of walks to snorkel in the River and contemplate the sunset over the Anavilhanas National Park. 

At night, departure in speedboats to observe fauna, especially jacarés. Return to the hotel and dinner.

Breakfast and departure for the walks.  In dry season: departure by speedboat to visit the Aracarí community and the Community do Bacaba. Interpretive trail in the forest. Lunch of grilled Amazonian fish in the Ember in the house of the traditional cablocos (local community). Then departure to Playa do Bacaba in the heart of the Anavilhanas National Park. After a refreshing bath, appreciation of flora and fauna of the islands, visit in canoes to the “Igapos” of Anavilhanas for observation of this articulate ecosystem. In the full or flooded Station we will have a speedboat departure with a visit to the Mirituba community. Interpretive trail in the forest with a visit to the largest species of trees of the Amazon, the Samaúma. Lunch of Amazonian fish grilled on the embers in the house of the traditional cablocos. Immediately transfer to see the Igapos of Anavilhanas, we will see a giant Macucu. Return to the Hotel for a foray into the jungle to observe flora and fauna. Stop to visit the floats in the middle of the River to observe and interact with the pink dolphins of the Amazon.

Return to the Hotel and dinner at the CamuCamu Restaurant

Breakfast and departure for the day’s walks. All seasons: departure in speedboats for an activity on an interpretive trail to the Cavernas do Madada and its immense stone halls (a 3-hour trek in primary forest). Stop for lunch in Madada with visit to the archipelago of Anavilhanas. Rest time and then recreational piranha fishing. In case of dry season we will have lunch at the cablocos’ house and a refreshing bath in the natural pools of Madadá. Return to the Hotel by speedboat passing through the Anavilhanas Islands.  Dinner. 

Breakfast and departure for the City Tour in Novo Airao, a community in the Amazon, where We can visit in motorized vehicles or ride bicycles.  Return to the Hotel, rest and lunch. At 1:00 p.m. departure from the Lodge to Manaus with expected arrival at 4:00 p.m., transfer to the airport and end of the program.
