Private Walking Tour of Recoleta district (Includes Recoleta Cemetery)
Duration: 3 hours
Availability: Every day of the week
Tour Type: Private Tour
Overview
This walking tour is the best way to experience the grandest neighborhood of Buenos Aires and possibly the most remarkable cemetery of the world.
Explore one of the most luxurious neighborhoods in Buenos Aires as we delve into the personalities, scandals, and institutions that have made it so legendary. While emphasizing the Gilded Age, our tour will discuss the evolution of the area from the late 18th century farmland through the early 19th century development and ultimately its “discovery” by the Porteño elites.
The tour includes a guided visit inside the Recoleta Cemetery, one of the "must see" attractions when visiting Buenos Aires. The cemetery’s 60,000 sq m are organised into squares, which are divided by wide, tree-lined avenues flanked by marble mausoleums of different architectural styles. Argentina’s most illustrious sons and daughters (presidents, writers, scientists, artists and founding fathers of the country) are all buried here. Among the most venerated tombs is that of Eva Duarte, otherwise known as Evita Perón

Cancellation fees will be charged when cancellations are done with less than 6 days before the tour date.
Please check the 5 day forecast. We go out rain, snow or shine, but if you prefer not to, the 5 day weather forecast will help you to cancel within 48 hours.
The most important thing is to dress appropriately for the weather and to make sure you have good walking shoes. Sneakers or hiking shoes are best.
Unfortunately we do not, but this is why we offer private tours. As another option, you are more than welcome to try and do this on your own. What we suggest is going to a travel forum like Trip Advisor and mention that you are going to Buenos Aires and would like to cut cost by sharing a private tour. Leave the dates and our companies name and what tour you were thinking about doing. You never know, you might find someone.
If you have a great time and want to thank your tour guide, gratuities are very much appreciated. Like any service industry 10% to 20% is a general rule of thumb, and again is always greatly appreciated.
We have tour guides who are available for private tours who are fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French. When you send your booking form, you will be asked if you need a guide who speaks a language other than English.
At Ideas South America, we’re focused on your health & safety. We follow all Covid-19 guidelines from the City of Buenos Aires. Guides received health and safety training, monitor temperatures daily, and guides trained in group social distancing practices.
