A Unique Experience at Vik Chile: Luxury and Artistry in the Millahue Valley

Sharing my perspective on my stay at Vina VIK

This is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Chile’s wine country – a stunning hotel located amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Millahue Valley. Just a 2.5-hour drive from Santiago, this secluded retreat offers a warm welcome for those seeking a few days of relaxation, wine education, and immersion in nature. Surrounded by vineyards and breathtaking scenery, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you’re interested in horseback riding, hiking, wine tasting, or exploring local wineries, there’s something for everyone here.

The Architecture

Vina Vik is a stunning retreat, its impressive architecture perched atop a hill, providing sweeping panoramic vistas of the Vik Natural Reserve. Every inch of this extraordinary establishment resembles a curated art gallery, where each turn unveils a masterpiece – be it a sprawling canvas, a captivating sculpture, or an avant-garde piece of furniture. The edifice itself exudes a golden hue, paying homage to the indigenous Mapuche heritage of the region, aptly named Millahue, meaning “place of gold”. Adorned with a titanium roof reminiscent of Frank Gehry’s iconic designs, Vina Vika seamlessly blends industrial-chic elements with glass and concrete walls, culminating in a striking architectural marvel. Its central open-air patio offers a serene oasis amidst the captivating design, with open walkways and glass walls inviting the surrounding countryside to become part of the experience. Unwind by the pool or on the terrace, savoring the breathtaking sunset while indulging in the complimentary cocktail of the day – a perfect finale to a day of exploration and relaxation at Viña Vik.

Transparent spaces, full of life, and a central courtyard with a Zen garden surrounded by colorful flowers welcome our guests. The living area invites gathering and relaxation surrounded by notable works of art, including paintings by Roberto Matta or a diptych from the iconic series “The Secret Life of Plants” by Anselm Kiefer.

About the rooms:

The rooms are like no other, each with its own unique style and vibe. Choose from 17 artsy suites, 5 master suites, or 7 cozy glass bungalows, all surrounded by nature in our private park. Take in the stunning 360º views from your terrace and chill out in your very own hot tub. It’s the perfect recipe for a getaway you won’t forget!

It is important that you bear in mind that rooms don’t have any modern clutter such as televisions and coffee machines so as not to detract from the décor and views. An afternoon tea is served each day at 5pm in the lounge, there is a games room with chess, table tennis and a television and a pool table in the lounge area. Other than that, entertainment comes in the form of outdoor activities, a gym and the spa and sauna.

Floor-to-Ceiling Glass Villas

Each Puro Vik villa boasts expansive glass walls, seamlessly merging with the surrounding canopy of trees. The cabins’ innovative layout ensures seclusion while offering breathtaking views of the valley below.

Bedrooms and bathrooms spill out onto private terraces, erasing the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. Guests can savor exquisite Chilean wines under the radiant sun, tranquil moon, and dazzling constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.

Puro Vik accommodations showcase standalone glass closets, designer furnishings of museum quality, and luxurious hardwood floors extending seamlessly from the bedroom to the terrace.

Every bathroom is a masterpiece, adorned with marble sourced from diverse corners of the globe. Handcrafted Japanese washi paper, encased within glass partitions, adds a touch of refinement, gracefully dividing the sleeping and bathing areas.

Each Puro Vik residence exudes its own distinctive personality and theme, offering a truly bespoke experience.
