Day 1 Buenos Aires

Welcome to Buenos Aires. Your Guide and separate driver will greet you at Ezeiza International Airport (Buenos Aires) and you will be transferred to your hotel in chic Recoleta neighborhood.

Day 2 El Calafate

Following breakfast, you will depart to Aeroparque, City Airport to take your flight to El Calafate, gateway of Southern Patagonia.
Arrival at El Calafate Airport. Reception and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, leave Calafate city and go up to 1050mts over sea level, and enjoy a panoramic view of El Calafate and the East side of Lake Argentino. If the weather is clear, you will also see Mounts Chalten and Torre and will be able to contemplate the flight of the Condors.
You will return to El Calafate descending through the north side of the mountain range, without losing sight of the impressive Lake Argentino.

Accommodation at Xelena Suites hotel.

Day 3 El Calafate

Today you will explore Los Glaciares National Park and start the day with a trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier.

You will be picked up early in the morning and transferred to Bajo las Sombras Port, from where the 20 minute ship crossing leaves until we reach the opposite side of Brazo Rico. After disembarking you will get to the small shelter, where specialized mountain guides will organize the people in groups of not more than 20, who then follow their guides along the lake’s shore towards the edge of the glacier.

The trekking is moderate. The ice surface over which we walk is irregular, but firm and safe. Guides will provide explanations about flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region and also about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier and eventually produces its rupture.
After the walk, a stroll through the exuberant magallanic forest brings you back to the shelter, where the visitors have lunch contemplating a wonderful view. Once lunch is finished, we head back to the Port, where a bus will be awaiting to take you back to the Glacier viewpoint and its footbridges, where you will be able to stay for an hour. We then begin our return to ElCalafate.

* Due to the required physical demand, this tour is not permitted for people with walking difficulties, pregnant women or any mobility problem. Ages: children under 10 years or adults over 65 years old are not allowed to do this tour.

Day 4 Calafate / El Chalten

Transfer to Calafate’s bus terminal, where we will take a bus to El Chalten.

After 3 hours in the road (with a stop to enjoy a hot chocolate or eat a cak ) you will see the first view of El Chalten and Fitz Roy peak.

After checking in at your hotel, you can start exploring the trails this same day as – during our summer - our Patagonia has daylight until almost 10 PM. Most of the trails in this so called “National Capital of trekking” are auto-guided. We recommend Capri Lagoon trek as an easy start and to have wonderful views of Fitz Roy hill ( Auto-guided ).

Accommodation at Los Cerros hotel.

Day 5 El Chalten

Departure early in the morning for the trek to Laguna de los Tres: This is the most sought trek and viewpoint, with spectacular sights of the Fitz Roy massif. This natural viewpoint is undoubtedly the most famous of all walks closer to the imposing walls of Fitz Roy mount and its surrounding granite peaks. The head trail begins at the end of Avenida San Martín, where El Chaltén town ends. There you can park your vehicle in a designated parking area. The slope is quite steep during the first hour until you reach Del Salto stream valley towards the Mt. Fitz Roy. You will notice that the Antarctic Beech become more and more numerous along the path and approximately after an hour and a half further down the way you will reach a well marked natural viewpoint. The trail finishes at the old moraine ridge with an extraordinary view of the lagoon and De los Tres Glacier. This is the closest view to the granite wall of Mt. Fitz Roy and the peaks around. Going down the moraine, you can take a trail that surrounds the lagoon until its outfall where it is possible to appreciate the emerald waters of the Laguna Sucia and its hanging glaciers.

Accommodation at Los Cerros hotel.
