Bariloche is
the gateway of the lake-district in Argentina
and the first city of Patagonia. It is located
in the western area of the Province of Río
Negro. The city of Bariloche is situated
in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National
Park, the oldest national park in Argentina.
Lying on the southern shore of the lake after
which the park is named, it is the perfect
combination between the speed of the city
and the quietness of nature.
Tons of water
sports along with complete exploration of
the miles of mountain trails, lakes, rivers
and streams can be arranged by our highly
experienced staff.
The Minor
Circuit is a half-day excursion from Bariloche explored by car or mini van. The scenic
trip offers views of lake Nahuel Huapi
and gorgeous mountains and lagoons around
the city of Bariloche. The interesting
sights along the route are the scenic overlook
Panoramic Terrace, village Colonia Suiza,
the luxurious hotel Llao Llao, and the nice
residential palaces on Peninsula San Pedro.
This
tour offers visitors a view into the workings
of various cottage industries in Argentina,
while also offering beautiful vistas of the
countryside. Some of the traditional workshops
include clocks, candles, chocolates and ceramics.
We'll board the boat again
and ride along the enormous lake until we
arrive at the Quetrihue Peninsula, where
we'll find The Bosque de Arrayanes (The
Myrtle Forest). These myrtle trees rarely
grow in cold weather climates and are a
highlight of this region. This fascinating
bush grows as high as 20m (66 ft.) and to
the untrained eye looks like a tree, with
slick cinnamon-coloured trunks that are
cool to the touch. They are especially beautiful
in the spring when in bloom.
Villa La Angostura is a neighbouring
town from Bariloche, a land of deep, cold lakes,
soaring mountains, vast forests and sprawling
estancias. This tour will give you an
in depth view of the highlights and major
attractions in Villa La Angostura, Villa
Traful and surrounding lakes. We include
ample time to explore both villages and
to sail along the Nahuel Huapi Lake in
a private motor boat. The tour ends at
the port of Bariloche.
The
famous Seven Lakes Road joins the cities of San
Martín de los Andes and Bariloche, which dazzles
visitors with its successive sceneries of extraordinary
beauty.
The landscape, composed by imposing mountains,
majestic lakes and magical ancient forests,
is enriched by charming myths and legends,
which grant a special mysticism. We will witness
the most important lakes along the route towards
San Martin de los Andes. After having lunch
at San Martin de los Andes and exploring this
village, we will return to Bariloche.
The
following tours are flexible and we can change
the itinerary and the duration of the programs
to meet your expectations. Please contact us
so that our experienced professional guide can
customize the tour for you.
After an early breakfast we take a short transfer
to the base of the ski resort in Bariloche.
We will then take a chairlift all the way up
to the ridge and from this vantage point begins
our trek with an incredible view of the lakes,
Andes and the Chilean Volcanoes in the distance.
This amazing scenery will frame our trek along
the ridge towards the towers of Cerro Catedral,
the mountain we are traversing to the south.
After
approximately 3 hours be arrive by the towers
and granite spires, if the weather is good
we enjoy a well earned picnic lunch with the
last glimpse to the west, before descending
towards the beautiful Schmoll and Tonchek lagoon.
We deal with some rocks and boulders in the descent
before arriving at the Frey Refuge: another chance
to relax and enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
After
this tea time break, we take off along the trail
that will bring us again into the woods and clear
mountain streams and eventually back to the base
of the ski resort.
Finally we take a car transfer back to our hotel.
The Tour includes private transportation
from your hotel to the Lakes: Gutierrez and Moreno
Lake. From these lakes we have amazing views
to the mountains while gliding the crystal
clear waters. The actual paddling takes approximately
one and a half hour. Once the activity ends,
we will take you back to your hotel in Bariloche.
We will explore the vastness of the Patagonian
steppe, the hidden valleys and very strange
rock formations.
All this area is a condor nesting place and
hopefully we will be able to wonder at these
huge birds gliding above us. We stop at noon
for a proper Argentine asado and return to
our hotel in the afternoon with the sun setting
behind the Andes.
